Colibri Azul is produced around “Cerro Datanli -El Diablo”, a natural reserve known for its biological diversity, tropical cloud forest and the quality of their coffee. The reserve refuges about 250 species of birds, protects at least 4 bird species in danger of extinction, including the Colibri (hummingbird).

22 small farmers started Aldea Global in 1992. Aldea Global is a Nicaraguan first level farmers association assisting more than 6,300 farm families, most of them belonging to the Chorotega Indigenous Community.
